You would actually think - giving the history and the area - that it would be quite easy to find my Pirates game here but I've been to about 5 hobby shops and card shops around the area and I've yet to find one that actually has the cards on hand.
Web says this shop or that shop but if I go or call they don't actually have the cards.
So what's the deal? Anybody in the Jacksonville, Florida area that knows where I might find my cards? I didn't actually bring any with me but if anyone knows of a game playing I would love to go and at least watch.

2nd down!
Got in a second game finally tonight, just two of us and no photos or videos but it was fun.
We decided to go with our own house rules and also to make some additions to my playing table to help for movement, as soon as I get that done I'll post some photos about it.
Never really thought it would be so hard to get people to play a cool little game but hey you gotta take what you can so we'll be playing again and are still on the lookout for a few others!

Finally got the first real game in...
I finally got my first real game in of Pirates of the Spanish Main. We screwed up a bit with the amount of gold and none of us really knew how to play so we ended up looking at the rules quite a bit but it was a blast!
We had a few rammings, a boarding, several ships sunk and 1 "total victory", of course it was bad luck or bad placement of islands but he did a good job. Can't wait for a rematch!
You can check out all the photos of the game here.

"Lookout" Island
I took styrofoam, contact glue, some of that fake grass and stuff and a sand paint and went to it.
One tip, don't use model glue to glue things down, that just eats through the stryofoam, however it did make for a cool valley :-)

My Pirate Name
You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.
So in my questing for more knowledge about Pirates I came across this fun little page. The types of quizzes are all over the place so why not, right? So there it is my pirate name! I think though I'll leave my blog as it is :-)

Pirates of the Spanish Main
Well have you ever just come across something and just been so sucked in? I was in the store a few weeks ago and saw this little pack, everything you need to play so I bought two packs for diversity and thought I would give that to my wife and myself for Christmas, you know stocking stuffer.
Well I thought it would be good I mean ships/pirates for me great card and dice game for my wife - great! I should have researched a bit she didn't like it, not her style. So now I have both packs and today I bought 2 more packs then an additional 15 packs (found the English packs at a local card shop) so I have 4 packs in German and 15 in English.
I've not played yet and I'm already setting up a blog for it, planning it and I have 29 unique ships! So I guess I'm sucked in. I've even tried my hand at the Pirates exam on Wiz Kids, you need 80% to pass I scored first time around a 74% and considering I've not played yet I think that is pretty good!
I've contacted 3 friends, one already has a few pieces the others not and we are going to try our first game in January!
