First Snow

Jason of course decided it's smooth, cold and looks like the lemon ice popsicle that Daddy always eats so he of course stuck it in his mouth!

Based on his reactions I'm dying for the snow to get here so we can have a blast in the backyard and then perhaps away in Winterberg as well.

I did a dumb thing...

As they say dad's often do something they think is cool then later (usually within minutes) learn was not such a great idea.

I put him up on the corner, and it's not the first time but it was the first time he decided to check out the rest of the cabinet top...

I had to get a step stool to get him back down he decided it was too much fun hanging out up there...

Needless to say we are nervous now...

Look Mom I can reach it now.

Just this past Thursday the little guy managed to open the door and decided to hang out in the front yard on the main road watching the cars go by, the doors are all locked and bolted now regardless :-(

Scared the dickens out of us...

It's Sunday at around 6:30am right now and about half an hour ago Nicole and I were both speechless. Sometimes something happens and you are not sure should you clap and applaude and encourage or simply sit back and smile (but not too much that it turns into a game?)

Jason was playing then all of a sudden decided to get up and go to the living room, where he opened the top drawer of the cabinet and pulled out his wet ones (the things we use to clean his bottom when we change the diaper) then climbed up on the sofa and proceeded to lay down and wait. Both of us watching in awe and not sure what to do - so Nicole then jumped up and asked if he wanted his diaper changed.

The diaper was full (wet) and he was quite happy laying there until she was done...

Brushing our teeth...

Yesterday I was on the phone with a coworker in Israel who happens to have a little one a bit older than Jason and had to close my office door. Jason was throwing a fit in the hall. She asked if everything was OK and I told her that we were having some problems around "brushing teeth".

She told me she understood her little one it's basically a fight sometimes as well. My response...

"No wait, our problem is that he already brushed his teeth this morning and now he is screaming because he wants into the bathroom to brush them again. In fact Nicole just poked her head with a look that says something like 'Please tell me you have not already brushed his teeth'"

You see every morning and evening we do a little ritual so to speak. I pick Jason up "Time to go brush our teeth", we go into the bathroom and I get the toothbrush get it wet, put some toothpaste on it then say "Daddy do it" and I start to brush and I get everything I can then tell him "Jason do it" which results in him taking the tooth brush sticking it in his mouth and "doing the motions" to which I tell him "don't forget to do both sides, top and bottom" which he does then I take the brush and finish up. Wash off the brush, give him the towel to clean his mouth (which he bites - it does the job I guess).

Well in the last week or so we've had the problem that he wants to do it all the time, so sometimes it's a fight to tell him "No Jason you already brushed your teeth this morning/evening".

I guess we should be happy he wants to do it but he's got a set of vocal chords on him and can really hit some notes when he's unhappy and not getting something he wants...
